This post begins and ends with a quote and is riddled in the belly of it with more. Mostly to highlight that for eons, poets and authors have been subject to making meaning out of endings. The unknown of what’s ahead is frightening to many of us. So……….”Ends are not bad things, they just mean that something else is about to begin.” ~ C. JoyBell C.
Life events ebb and flow and take us on twists and turns in unpredictable routes then dump us out in unforeseen places. This is the guaranteed pulsation of life yet we humans don’t accept change well. If the beginning wasn’t our choosing, it makes the ending of the other tender and painful. If our vote was heard, beginnings are joyful and exciting even in the uncertainty.
For me, endings this year have been unquestionable transformations and true beginnings. They involved breathing innovation and newness into my website with up-to-date imagery and technological updates to guide me in streamlining life. It just had to be easier than I how I was handling it. I craved the simplicity, ease and solace of connected dots and crossed T’s. My dots had become bound and constricted yet free-flowing independent boogers all over the place! My T’s looked out of place in the alphabet of daily functioning. Does that happen to you?
Homelife leant a harmonious convergence of spirits that lifted hardships as my partner who traveled intensely and weekly for work now finds herself home every night. Every morning there’s a huge sigh and “we got another day” gratitude offered.
Yet the ‘ending turned beginning’ that left a heavy heart was retiring as a weekly group exercise teacher, most notably as a yoga teacher – after 26 years of showing up at least 3 times a week to lead folks to infuse their bodies with movement and joy and strength. It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are, e.e. cummings said, and I was experiencing waves of courage connected to uncertainty. I’ll continue to be a student of yoga, learning to grapple the differences that land as the Magnificent One continues to breathe change into me.
“The most authentic endings are the ones which are already revolving towards another beginning. That’s genius.” ~ Sam Shepard
My astrologer friend, Samantha Cameron, said this is the time to “open doors to reconfigure your life. Accept energetic invitations to grow mindful awareness, and clarify emotions that re-design and support insightful calm. Listen to the direction calling you.”
Dear Ones, all this I wish for you, too. Look deep within to the courage that guides you to seek. I wish that your light be so brilliant, the path of darkness is diminished into clarity.
Life the full life of the mind, exhilarated by new ideas, intoxicated by the romance of the unknown. ~ Ernest Hemingway
