Blessings of Sandy

As I write, the sun is emerging behind me casting a clear and luminous light onto our street. That sort of silvery effervescent glow with the background of dark storm clouds and accented by the brilliance of yellow gold leaves still clinging to their branches. Evening winds whipped them silly and caused furor as the kitty chased their accelerated spirals being forced to the ground. Big picture windows never stopped him before.

We are blessed. Our home is numbered 188. Eight is extremely auspicious in Feng Shui and we’ve certainly benefitted from the presence of the One in our lives. We had a few small dead branches in our yard – just what was needed, Mother Nature doing her job of felling them so those remaining can continue to tell their stories of life.

We are saddened for NYC and Atlantic City and all the other coastal towns that are severely compromised. I’m so thankful our governors and others in authority had the foresight to be so diligent in evacuating homes and businesses, closing public transportation, and calling in the Guard and others to assist.

We’re whole with the presence of family and friends in our lives near and far, abundant food supply, and temperate climate inside. Let’s all share the wealth with this blessing today.

May all beings have happiness and the causes of happiness;
May all be free from sorrow and the causes of sorrow;
May all never be separated from the sacred happiness which is sorrowless;
And may all live in equanimity, without too much attachment and too much aversion,
And live believing in the equality of all that lives.
