Toasty with Tea


Sipping on a cup of hot tea leaves us warm and snuggly.  Yet, a simple tea made with spices that support your dosha (your constitution, basically, qualities that support how you live your life) can detox impurities and toxins and restore your balance. 

 Vata – 1 t. fennel seeds, 1 t. cumin seeds, ½ t. coriander seeds, ½ t. grated fresh ginger

 Pitta – 1 t. fennel seeds, 1 t. coriander seeds, ½ t. cumin seeds, 10 fresh mint leaves

 Kapha – 1 t. cumin seeds, ½ t. coriander seeds, 1 stick cinnamon, 10 fresh basil leaves

For all tea, place seeds in a 4 cup container with boiling water and steep for 5 minutes.  A squeeze of lemon juice and raw organic sugar to taste are optional for all doshas.  Add the lemon juice while the tea is steeping.

Strain into a tea pot or thermos for all day enjoyment.
